String Lock Installation Video:
String Lock Description:
The String-Lock is actually the part that prevents the strings from moving at the nut of the guitar while you are playing.
You MUST have a Fine Tuner at the back end of your guitar in order to use a String Lock.
We found out that if a string moves .001 in. at the nut ( 1/3 the thickness of a hair ) that the string will go out of tune by 1 fret or 1/2 a tone because the string will not return to tonal zero due to friction. So very little string movement at the nut causes a huge tonal difference.
The String-Lock fits between the nut and the tuning gears and will fit all 6 string guitars. It is free floating on the strings with no alteration to your guitar, however you must install a Fine-Tuner at the tail end of your guitar.
Your guitar will most likely stay in better tune for the entire session.
We are now working on solving the same nut problem that can occur at the bridge of a guitar which depends on it's design.
